She likes to play with stuffies and sometimes manages to steal them from the resident greys and collect them all on her bed. She loves to go for walks and really enjoys mealtime, but has learned to wait patiently while her foster mom prepares her food. She met several small dogs and was not interested and paid no attention to a cat that she saw on one of her walks. Female, Brindle, DOB 2-19-07, approx 59 lbs. Hi , my name is Rosebud. I live with 4 small dogs, 2 cats, 5 finches, 4 humans, and another female greyhound. Boy, this house is a busy one. You should see all the people that come to play over here. In the morning there is two small people that come over. Boy, I really like it when they come over. I always make sure to have plenty of kisses ready for them. I am not a fan of the cats that live here . When I first saw one I thought they could be fun to chase. I quickly learned that all they do is spit at you. No fun at all. So I leave them alone. I do like to snuggle on a pillow with a couple of the little dogs. They are fun to play with. I also really like my greyhound friend. She and I like to share things, toys mostly. The squeakier the better.

She is shy at first in new situations but quickly warms up to new people. Her most endearing trait is her doing her best "Elvis" impression since when she "smiles" her upper lip tends to curl up....too cute! And she is a big time grinner when she is happy.  She crates well and has impeccable house manner. She even taught herself to use the doggy door without her foster mom even showing her how. Male, Red,  DOB 2-01-06, approx 76 lbs. Crown is a very regal, extremely handsome boy with stunning perfectly lined eyes who gets loads of attention whenever he leaves the house due to his looks. He is a somewhat reserved fellow who is telling us more about himself every day. He loves larger dogs and ignores the resident Shih-tzu, Chihuahua, cat, rabbit, noisy bird, and rat. His foster siblings have voted him the "Most-likely-to-never-get-into-trouble" as he crates beautifully, does not enter the kitchen, is not vocal at all, goes outside when asked, loves to ride, walks well on a leash, and in the time he has been with us he has yet to here the word "no" as it has not been necessary. Crown likes to sleep on his large doggy bed covered up by his favorite blankie and has recently started snuggling with his stuffed squeaky for nap time. Crown spends the majority of his day enjoying his retirement by sleeping away the hours. Female, Red Fawn, DOB 8-8-07, approx 56 lbs.  Ruley has truly blossomed during the short time in her foster home, initially cautious and unsure of all the fuss (was it really over her?) She is now scampering through the house happily tossing stuffies around, and zooming in the back yard with her greyhound pals. She also loves to roach and wiggle on her back. Her first night home she discovered a soft dog bed, and now makes sure ALL the dog beds in the house are thoroughly fluffed. She is cat tolerant, only curious enough to sniff the queen of the house once over, before deciding the deep = rowling coming from the siamese was probably not a good thing. She very much prefers the company of people, and will choose a dog bed closest to you, over her crate. She sleeps soundly in her crate through the night, but isn't shy about letting you know when it's time to go potty and eat breakfast. She is a real beauty queen to boot, with lovely mascara around her amber eyes, and the cutest little corkscrew tail!  (Jennifer & David - Panama City area)

She loves the children she has met at our M&G's but hasn't meet a kittie yet. Su has no crate issues, eats and sleeps in her crate as well as when we are away from home. Rowdy likes to help in the kitchen, patiently standing by to make sure everything is ok. . .never counter surfing or picking the trash. The pet life has come easily to Rowdy and he has been sighted lounging in the baby pool (that big pool is just too deep), "reading" various magazines, running figure eights in the yard, and throwing toys up to see if he can hit the ceiling fan. My name is Springwater Jane (my foster mom calls me Janey). I live with 2 other greyhounds and 1 cat. I love to play with toys by tossing and chasing them and shaking them in my mouth. I also love to play with towels, shoes and socks the same way, but my mom makes me stop when I do that. I never chew anything up, though. But I listen very well and stop doing things when she tells me. I love to have my head rubbed and my body petted, and I'll just stand there all day for that! I go into my crate very well and spend the day there while mom is at work. I know how to get to everyone with my beautiful golden-brown eyes! Male, White & Brindle, DOB 9-23-04, approx 70 lbs. Sarge, as he is known as in his foster home, has been in foster care for just a little while. From the very start, he walked in the door, picked a soft bed and plopped down with a sigh. He is living with four other Greyhounds, two cats and a small dog. Sarge has impeccable house manners and loves to go for strolls around the neighborhood. He is a more settled type of guy and not into alot of activity from younger and more active potential companions. He would do best in a home with other pets that that share his outlook on life or even as a single dog. I love spending my days laying on my pillow, which I occaisonaly share with one of the other dogs which live her. There are some small dogs here they tend to bark alot but that doesn't bother me. Also there is another female greyhound here. I really like to run and play with her. She showed me all the cool places in the backyard for us to play. The other day I saw these two animals walking through my foster home and was curious about them. My new greyhound friend told me that they are called cats and that they are no fun to play with. So I didn't even try. They looked boring anyway. I am really good about telling my new foster family about when I have to go outside so I don't make a mess in the house. They really like that. One of my favorite things to do is to go for a walk. I love that. In the afternoons when it isn't too hot my new foster mom likes to take me and my new friend for a walk. She has done beautifully and has blossomed into the happy, girl she deserves to be. Her ear tattoos are not legible so we don’t know her exact birthday or racing name. She absolutely loves being called Mrs. T., was a world class schmoozer at her first Meet & Greet, and she is clearly enjoying being loved and well cared for. She lives with other GH’s and small dogs at her foster home, and doesn’t pay attention to the visiting cat. Female, White Ticked Brindle, DOB 12-05-06, 64 lbs. Kissy is a beautiful young girl who is mostly white with some brindle patches. She is very curious and follows her foster mom from room to room to make sure she doesn't miss out on anything important. She is very affectionate and freely gives out kisses. She likes to play with her stuffies, particularly the loud, squeaky ones. Kissy gets excited when she hears the word "walk" and she does very well on a leash as she checks out the neighborhood. She has excellent house manners and does not beg at the table, counter surf, or get on the furniture. She has not been small dog tested, but doesn't pay any attention to the beagle across the fence from her. She gets along fine with the resident greys and enjoys being around well-mannered children. After the resident cat gave Kissy a not-so-warm greeting, she decided that maybe it would be best to avoid that nasty kitty altogether. Male, Brindle, DOB 9-10-03, 71 lbs,  A very handsome brindle boy, Iggy is a lovely combination of wide eyed wonderment and the patience of maturity. It seems he's decided this pet gig is the bomb, so he spends most of his time begging for affection, or following his foster mom around the house (what will she do next?). Iggy gets along well with the resident dogs (greys and lab) and has been sighted sharing a water bowl with one of the cats (the dumb one of course)--felines aren't of much interest. Iggs doesn't run around the yard with his hair on fire, or play roughly with the other dogs - he would rather get some extra affection, or take a little siesta. Iggy's house manner are excellent, his crate is his haven, and he's an angel on a leash. This sweet fellow doesn't mind assisting with the yard work, but he definitely doesn't like to swim in the pool. He and Peggy Sue were both heartworm positive, successfully treated, and are being carefully monitored. Jazz is on the small size physically but he’s large with love and affection. He is small dog tolerant, has bonded with the 12 year old boy in his foster home, walks beautifully on lead, will sit on occasion, listens well, and generally he’s a sweet love bug. He is a quick study and as intelligent as he is curious. He’s enjoying his foster home with another senior dog and is a happy fellow. Male, White & Fawn, DOB 2-28-06, approx 78 lbs. Bastille knows his name and comes when called. He is living with two cats, a small dog and other Greyhounds. He's learning that retired life, doggie cookies and long walks in the neighborhood are good things. Female, Red, DOB 6-19-04, approx 60 lbs Izzie, is a petite, cute little girl that is very friendly and sweet. She gets along very well with the 4 other greyhounds in her foster home. Izzie is crated daily while her foster mom is at work. She doesn't seem to mind her crate at all. She loves to play with all the stuffies and she enjoys going out in the yard and doing a couple laps each day. Izzie has not met a kitty yet. Female, Red Fawn, DOB 11-19-03, 58lbs.  This gorgeous girl comes to GPAEC, (we are lucky) instead of having a second career as a brood mom.  She is stunning with her Cleopatra eyes, and equally stunning when you get to know her a little and sense her gentle and warm demeanor with a playful side that will show itself as she moves into a home.  She will tell us much more about herself soon as she enters her pet life via foster, etc, but initial assessment is that she is simply an awesome and wonderful little girl. Female, Red Fawn, DOB 9/22/06, 57lbs.  Lilly’s foster mom describes her as a “little bundle of joy” after she gets a chance to get to know you and shows her bubbly personality.  Her face is framed by a slightly darker red fawn color forming a “widow’s peak” that showcases her “Cleopatra Eyes” - she just melts your heart with her gentle look.  She is taking to retirement, discovering that she really likes her soft bed, stuffies, and her playmates.
